Sr Data Steward - Hybrid
Responsibilities:
Create confidence and trust in key data assets by leading the business user community and IT through steps to map lineage, assess quality and improve accessibility of critical data.
Identify key business data elements and their attributes including meaning, rules for use, format, and lineage.
Act as the custodian of data assets; provide oversight of governance activities including data inventories, full lifecycle management, content management, records management, preservation, data quality, data classification, data security and access, data risk management, and data valuation.
Participate on cross-functional business and technology teams to drive data quality, data standards, ease-of-use, and data security/privacy policy adoption.
Assist the team and other stakeholders with complex data issues.
Document definitions and metadata on critical fields, gather feedback and gain approval by Data Governor.
Oversee the design and build of Semantic Data Layers / Reference data to improve ease of use and understanding of key data assets.
Ensure data quality by designing and maintaining a vigorous Data Quality program.
Keep abreast of global personal data and privacy legislation (proposed and effective); deliver thought leadership for responses and compliance with same.
Mentor and help direct more junior Data Stewards and teammates.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in computer science or other quantitative discipline with a focus on data usage and critical thinking, or relevant business degree
Five years of experience in a similar role
Expert understanding of database management, data mining and reporting concepts
Technical competence using SQL, big data technologies, Hadoop, and AWS
Analytical, critical thinking and problem solving skills
Detailed oriented and well organized
Preferred Qualifications:

Data Architecture and Modeling
Working Conditions:
Hybrid office environment: 3 days/week in one of our core offices (Baltimore/Cedar Rapids/Denver/Philadelphia)
Occasional travel
Compensation:
The Salary for this position generally ranges between $85,000 - $100,000 annually. Please note that the salary range is a good faith estimate for this position and actual starting pay is determined by several factors including qualifications, experience, geography, work location designation (in-office, hybrid, remote) and operational needs. Salary may vary above and below the stated amounts, as permitted by applicable law.
Additionally, this position is typically eligible for an Annual Bonus based on the Company Bonus Plan/Individual Performance and is at the Company’s discretion.
