Your first day

Starting a new job can be both exciting and nerve-wracking, but we're here to ensure you feel welcomed and prepared as you embark on your journey with us. Here's what you can expect on your first day as a new employee in our organization.

• Warm welcome
  You'll start your day with a warm welcome from your new direct colleague or manager. They'll introduce themselves, provide you with an employee badge, and walk you through our office space. 
• IT setup 
  You'll receive your work equipment, such as a computer, phone, and any necessary software or tools. Our IT team will ensure everything is set up and working smoothly for you. 
• Office tour 
  Get acquainted with your new workplace! We'll take you on a tour of the office, introducing you to your colleagues and showing you key facilities like the break room, restrooms, and meeting rooms. 
• Training and development
  Depending on your role, you may have specific training sessions scheduled throughout the day. These sessions will help you understand your responsibilities and any specialized tools or systems you'll be using. 
• Lunch with your team
  We encourage team building and getting to know your colleagues. On your first day, you'll have the opportunity to have lunch with your team members, fostering relationships and getting a feel for the team dynamics. 
• Q&A session
  Feel free to ask questions at any point during the day. We value your curiosity and want to ensure you have all the information you need. 
• Wrap-up
  Follow-up at the end of the day with your manager. 

Good to know  

Once you’ve setup your computer you will get access to our intranet. Aegon’s intranet page serves as a centralized hub for a wide range of content and resources that will help you stay informed, connected, and productive within the company. Here are some typical types of information and features you can find on the intranet: 

• Company News and Announcements  

  A dedicated section for the latest company news, updates, and important announcements. To keep employees informed about changes in the organization, upcoming events, and other relevant news. 

• Knowledge base 

  A knowledge base where employees can find information about our strategy, purpose and behaviors as well as our policies and guidelines, and other resources that support your work. 

• Tools & resources 

  Aegon has an internal App Store with 30+ Apps to help you or keep you informed about HR, L&D, IT, Facility and our brand.  

• Communities 

  Access to our Communities. Our communities are designed to allow you to connect informally with colleagues (worldwide) through a timeline that is similar to Facebook and LinkedIn. 

• And many more features 

  Feel free to dive in and learn more about your new employer.
