Board of Directors
The Board manages and conducts the business of Aegon and is responsible for the general affairs of the company, which includes setting the strategy of the company.
By delegation, the executive member(s) of the Board are primarily charged with the day-to-day operations and the developing, proposing to the Board and implementing of Aegon's strategy.
The Board determines the number of executive directors and non-executive directors. The General Meeting of Shareholders appoints the members of the Board.
The Board has four committees to assist in its role:
- Audit Committee
- Risk Committee
- Nomination and Governance Committee
- Compensation and Human Resource Committee
