Aegon announces that Supervisory Board member Cecelia (Sue) Kempler has submitted her resignation from the Board due to health reasons.
[node:field_featured_media:entity:field_media_image]Ms. Kempler, a U.S. citizen, was elected to the Supervisory Board in 2008. Her term was due to expire in 2012. Supervisory Board Chairman Robert Routs stated: “Sue has been an outstanding member of Aegon’s Supervisory Board and we have benefitted significantly from her in-depth knowledge of Aegon’s business and career-long involvement with leading industry organizations dedicated to the promotion of high ethical standards in the insurance sector. We thank Sue for her dedicated service and extend our best wishes to her.”
Before becoming a member of the Supervisory Board of Aegon, Ms. Kempler served on the Board of Directors of Aegon USA. In addition to her Supervisory Board functions, she was a director and instructor at Florida Atlantic University’s College of Business. She earned her J.D. degree from New York Law School and eventually served as partner of the law firm LeBoeuf, Lamb, Greene & MacRae (now Dewey & LeBoeuf), where she was Chair of the Life Insurance Practice and Co-Chair of the General Insurance Practice.
