Role Overview: We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Model Developer to join our Model Development team within Finance Solutions. This role is pivotal in ensuring the accuracy and robustness of our actuarial models, which are essential for key financial measures such as Solvency II, IFRS, and MCVNB.
Key Responsibilities:
Develop and maintain actuarial models using Prophet software.
Design and implement test plans to ensure model accuracy.
Produce high-quality documentation detailing code changes, testing approaches, and conclusions.
Collaborate with various teams within Finance Solutions to ensure efficient processes for model inputs and outputs.
Mentor and support trainee actuaries and model developers.
We’d love to hear from you if you have:
Proven mathematical ability with an undergraduate degree in a related discipline.
Extensive experience in financial modelling, ideally within an actuarial team.
Proficiency in actuarial modelling software, particularly Prophet.
Strong programming skills and familiarity with Prophet Standard Libraries, including Prophet ALS.
Good knowledge of actuarial modelling concepts (e.g. decrements and discounting) and able to relate these to reporting requirements.
Ability to own and produce quality design and project documentation over entire development or project lifecycle.
Excellent communication skills and the ability to engage with and influence key stakeholders.
Good understanding of Solvency II, IFRS, MCVNB, and other financial measures.
Team player with strong prioritisation skills and attention to detail.
Desirable but not essential:
Knowledge of additional programming languages such as SAS, Visual Basic, C++, or Python.
