Senior Strategic Transformation Manager
Reporting directly to the VP Strategic Transformation, the Senior Strategic Transformation Manager is a senior enterprise leader responsible for translating global strategic decisions into high-impact, high-velocity transformation outcomes across Aegon and Transamerica (being Aegon’s US based business unit). This role serves as the strategic engine that operationalizes board-level priorities, orchestrates and executes on integrations, and drives enterprise-wide change. Unlike a transitional PMO, this position in accountable for shaping and executing the transformation agenda, fostering a culture of innovation, and ensuring sustainable value creation.
Location: The Netherlands, WTC Schiphol
Key Responsibilities
- Lead global impacted transformation programs: Design and execute global transformation programs aligned with long-term business objectives and shareholder value. Develop disciplined roadmaps, KPIs, milestones, and risk frameworks to ensure delivery and accountability
- Transitions and integrations: Drive organizational designs and transitions and integration efforts with precision—aligning operating models, harmonizing processes, and capturing synergies while minimizing disruption.
- Executive engagement & influence: Build and sustain alignment accorss senior leadership and business unit leadership. Prioritize initiatives, resolve tensions, and maintain momentum—primarily through influence, than authority.
- Trusted advisor: Act as a trusted advisor and thought partner to the VP Strategic Transformation. Co-architect the enterprise agenda with a focus on customer centricity, digital acceleration, and sustainable growth.
- Operational excellence: Oversee program operations financial planning, budgeting, third-party coordination, and executive reporting concerning strategic tranformations. Ensure documentation excellence and board-ready communications.
- Cultural & organizational change: Champion a culture of innovation, operational rigor, and responsible business practices that reinforce the Group’s purpose and strategic ambitions.
What You Will Bring
- Master’s degree in Business, Strategy, or a related field; MBA preferred.
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in strategy execution, transformation leadership, or M&A integration, ideally within financial services, banking or insurance.
- Proven success in leading complex, cross-border transformation programs in regulated environments.
- Executive presence with exceptional influencing and communication skills, able to challenge assumptions, shape board-level dialogue, and drive clarity in ambiguity.
- Deep understanding of strategic change dynamics, digital transformation, and organizational design.
- Fluent in English.
- Good sense of humor
- Willingness to travel internationally
This role is for a well-developed transformation leader, someone who has a talent for execution and stakeholder management.
