Internship – Workplace & Facilities Management

About the Internship
As a Workplace & Facilities Management Intern, you will support the Corporate Center team in delivering an outstanding workplace experience at Aegon’s headquarters in Schiphol WTC. You will work closely with the Facilities team, Hospitality, and Contracted teams on data-driven insights, process improvement, and sustainability initiatives.
Key responsibilities & deliverables
- Data Analysis & Reporting: Collect and analyse usage statistics for Internal Facilities Management (IFM) services; develop clear and visually appealing monthly dashboards.
- Service Quality Monitoring: Monitor KPIs for soft services (catering, cleaning, security, etc.) and summarise customer satisfaction feedback to identify improvement areas.
- Process Documentation: Keep Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) up-to-date for hard and soft services and landlord coordination, including responsibility matrices (RASCI).
- Project Support: Assist in sustainability initiatives and space optimisation projects (e.g., workplace strategy reviews, energy-saving measures).
- Benchmarking & Insights: Conduct research on facilities management and workplace best practices and translate findings into actionable recommendations.
- Finance & Contracts Support: Review budgets, actual spend, and related contracts to flag upcoming renewals or required actions in a timely manner.
What we are looking for
- Currently enrolled in a relevant Bachelor’s or Master’s program (e.g., Facility Management, Hospitality, Business Administration, Real Estate, Data Analytics).
- Strong analytical skills and comfortable working with data in Excel; basic experience with Power BI is a plus.
- Excellent written and spoken English and Dutch.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills; able to coordinate with various internal and external stakeholders.
- Basic understanding of (or strong interest in) hard services (technical maintenance) and soft services (hospitality, catering, cleaning, reception).
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (especially Excel and PowerPoint); familiarity with Microsoft Teams and SharePoint is an advantage.
- Proactive, well-organised, and able to work independently while managing multiple tasks and deadlines.

- The Internship allowance is 650 EUR per month
- A personal laptop you can borrow during your internship

- It is required to be enrolled at a university or Hoge school to take part in this internship.
- Next to that you will need a Dutch BSN-number and Dutch bank account.
- If you are a non-EU/EER student, you will need a valid residence permit stating that you may work ('arbeid vrij toegestaan').
