Your challenge
The Financial Reporting Manager is an experienced professional, reporting to the Head of Financial Reporting. On a day-to-day basis the Financial Reporting Manager works on producing specific deliverables in the financial and non-financial reporting space. The Financial Reporting Manager is accountable and responsible for gathering, consolidating, reviewing, and reporting financial and non-financial information for Aegon International region, including preparation of the reports, in a controlled manner. The Financial Reporting Manager is also responsible for performing a technical analysis on the numbers reported by the business units belonging to International region (Spain & Portugal, Brazil, China and Asia Pacific) as well as for summarizing the results of the analysis in narrative reports. Additionally, the Financial Reporting Manager also participates in the annual budget preparation process and provides financial expert input to various finance projects.
Your team
The department Financial Reporting is part of Aegon International, reporting to the CFO of Aegon International. The purpose of Financial Reporting is to provide Aegon Management as well as Aegon’s Corporate Financial Centre with reliable, transparent and compliant financial and non-financial information, such as IFRS, Capital and MCVNB information, to support decision making process and the delivery on legally required reporting.
The department, comprised of highly engaged and motivated people, is working closely with other functions of Aegon International, like Actuaries, and also with Aegon’s Corporate Financial Centre. In addition, Financial Reporting department also works closely together with the business units of International region to ensure timely and high-quality information.
Qualifications and Skills
Master’s degree in Finance, Economics, Business Administration or equivalent,
Minimum 10 years work experience in an international financial consolidation and reporting environment or BIG4 financial services,
Experience gained in insurance industry in financial area,
IFRS knowledge,
US GAAP is a plus,
Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Financial Reporting Solutions (e.g., Tagetik, SAP, Oracle, etc.),
Strong analytical, people and organizational skills,
Strong communication skills (written and spoken English).
