Our LGBTQ+ network: Proud
Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, Queer, Intersex, Asexual and more (LGBTQIA+) employees, customers and partners are welcome at Aegon. To bring people together, to connect and to support, the PROUD employee resource groups are available to all staff. By working closely with human resources and senior management we strive to educate for constant progress.

The Proud network is a collection of location-based communities which together connect to create a global effort. Aegon Proud promotes equality and visibility of our LGBTQIA+ community by frequently tuning in with them, share their stories and organize events. Furthermore, Aegon Proud contributes to I&D initiatives across the company to create an environment that enables everyone to live their best lives.
Supported by the Executive Committee
To emphasize its importance, Proud is sponsored and supported by Deb Watters, CTO, and the Aegon global Executive Committee.
Workplace Pride
We've proudly received the Ambassador Award for the seventh consecutive year. The 2025 award was given by the organization Workplace Pride to companies that rate 70% or higher on their annual LGBTQIA+ Inclusion benchmark. Workplace Pride is an international platform for LGBTIQ+ inclusion in the work place. Also, discussions are underway for further improvements to make sure everyone will be able to live their best lives in our company.

Our activities
Provide LGBQTIA+ education to Aegon employees
To continuously improve an inclusive culture, we’ve been focusing on developing our employees. We do this via various trainings, such as "Coming Out stories", "Cultural sensitivity", 'the LGBTQIA+ alphabet', 'Unconscious Bias' and 'Let's Talk: Inclusion'. Helping our employees increase their awareness of their own judgments and behaviors in how we interact with the people around us. In 2025, we hosted a global training on cultural sensitivity as part of a Pride month education program
Support and raise awareness on LGBQTIA+ days and volunteering
Since 2024, we offer employees volunteering initiatives to support the LGBTQIA+ community in the Netherlands. For instance in 2025, we published with MenAsWell a guide on sexual harassment in the workplace
Fostering a vibrant LGBTQIA+ community within and beyond Aegon’s doors
We organize regular community gatherings, creating safe spaces to meet others and raise awareness for the LGBTQIA+ community at Aegon. In 2025, we participated at the Rozegarden Film Festival and opened our gatherings to other companies’ LGBQTIA+ ERGs.
