Aegon has proudly participated in the New York Stock Exchange's (NYSE) 100th annual Tree Lighting Event, which illuminates the holiday season with the spirit of supporting people and communities.
As part of its annual Global Giving Campaign, the NYSE invites companies listed on the exchange to raise awareness for an important charitable organization they support. Each company and charitable organization are honored with a commemorative custom ornament that hangs on the holiday trees in front of the NYSE entrance from November 30 until the end of the year.
Our ornament marks the support given by the Aegon Transamerica Foundation to Cedar Rapids-based Junior Achievement of Eastern Iowa, an organization dedicated to helping young people make smart academic and economic choices. Junior Achievement has local chapters in more than 100 countries working to provide students with real-world and inspirational learning experiences in financial literacy, entrepreneurship and career readiness.
Our support for Junior Achievement of Eastern Iowa demonstrates the Aegon Transamerica Foundation’s focus on being a force for good in the communities where our employees live and work, with Cedar Rapids being home to many of our colleagues. In 2023, the Aegon Transamerica Foundation donated a total of $400,000 to the local chapters in Cedar Rapids, Baltimore and Denver.
