Jan Willem Weidema, Head of Investor Relations, has decided to leave Aegon as per July 1, 2023. Following Capital Markets Day on June 22, 2023, he will take an extended sabbatical to travel Europe with his family.
Jan Willem has worked for Aegon since 2013, of which the last five years as Head of Investor Relations. He started his career in Investment Banking and equity research at Fortis and ABN AMRO after graduating in both Economics and Law.

In past years, Aegon has been successfully transforming the company and improving its performance and during this process Jan Willem has been a trusted advisor to me and other Management Board members. He has been a driving force behind further improving our financial communication and our relationship with our investment community. I am pleased he will continue to lead the preparations for Capital Markets Day in June and contribute to a successful introduction of our updated strategy."
The process to appoint a new Head of Investor Relations has been initiated and an update will follow in due course.
