This year, Aegon has two anniversaries: In 1983, the company was created by the merger of the insurers Ago and Ennia, and at the same time Aegon began its listing on the Euronext Exchange in Amsterdam.
To celebrate this anniversary, Aegon CEO, Lard Friese, sounded the gong to open trading today at the Euronext Exchange in Amsterdam.
He said: “We are very pleased to mark 40 years of being listed on Euronext Amsterdam. The merger of Ago and Ennia to create Aegon, and our subsequent listing, were significant milestones in our company’s history. These anniversaries remind us of how much has been achieved and inspire us to deliver the next chapter of our transformational journey."
