Transamerica earned a score of 100% from the Human Rights Campaign Foundation on their annual Corporate Equality Index (CEI). The index is the foremost benchmarking survey measuring workplace equality for lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, and queer (LGBTQ) employees in the United States.
Holly Waters, Chief People Officer at Transamerica, comments: "The fact that we earned the top score for four consecutive years is a testament to our dedication to diversity. We value the wellbeing of all of our employees, and we will work hard every day to ensure that our LGBTQ employees continue to get the support they deserve."
Transamerica supports inclusion through Employee Resource Groups (ERGs), including Transamerica PROUD for LGBTQ employees and allies. ERGs, which are open to all employees, host regular events to highlight members' interests and issues and allow members to provide insight and feedback to the company's leaders.
The CEI index evaluates corporate policies and practices regarding LGBTQ inclusion and workforce protections, including include non-discrimination policies, equitable benefits for LGBTQ workers and their families, inclusive workplace culture, and corporate social responsibility. Transamerica's efforts to meet all the CEI's criteria resulted in the 100% ranking and the designation as a Best Place to Work for LGBTQ Equality.
