What we do
In our Budapest hub, we bring together multiple user groups, creating a collaborative and unified environment. Colleagues, previously operating separately, now work side by side, leveraging their expertise to support Aegon’s business units:
- Aegon International: risk management, compliance, financial operations, model development.
- Aegon Global Technology Services: secure cloud ecosystems development, application security, and AI solutions.
- Transamerica: finance reporting, tax operations and IT
- Aegon Asset Management: investment operations, portfolio accounting, and client reporting.
- Aegon UK: application security management.
- Corporate Center: model validation, actuarial services, internal audit.
The Budapest office also has HR, operations, communications and event teams supporting its own, GBSC operations. We are committed to providing exceptional services in several key areas:
- IT & Technology Services: from cloud ecosystems and app security to AI modeling and data operations, we ensure Aegon’s digital infrastructure is cutting-edge, secure, and scalable.
- Finance, Risk & Audit: our experts handle financial reporting, risk management, compliance, and treasury control, empowering Aegon to meet both operational and regulatory challenges.
- Model Validation & Actuarial: we provide key actuarial insights, risk modeling, and data analytics to support Aegon’s financial decision-making processes.
- With expertise in portfolio accounting, performance analysis, and investment operations, we ensure that Aegon’s assets are managed efficiently and in line with industry standards.

Our origins
Aegon GBSC traces its roots back to Aegon Hungary, to a company which played a central role in the Hungarian insurance market for over three decades. Originally known as ÁB-AEGON, and later Aegon Hungary, our Hungarian team helped shape Aegon’s regional success and contributed to the company’s broader European and global growth. Then in 2018 Aegon Global Technology Services launched in Budapest, focusing on IT services. This was the beginning of the Budapest hub.
In 2020, as part of a strategic realignment, Aegon sold its Central and Eastern European operations to the Vienna Insurance Group. This marked the beginning of a new chapter for our organization. The hub’s separate departments and locations joined forces to form the Aegon Global Business Solutions Center. Over the past years, we have been expanding our global reach and capabilities, and now we service most of Aegon’s businesses around the world.
