Life Underwriting Quality Risk Manager
Responsibilities
- Perform audits of underwriting work.
- Trend and review mortality and morbidity experience specific to L&P insurance markets.
- Serve as an L&P liaison for the Medical Information Bureau (MIB) and perform the annual the MIB self-audit for all distribution groups.
- Review and report on contestable claims and serve as a consultant to the Claims Department.
- Assist in projects and special assignments as needed.
Qualifications
- Five years of underwriting experience with mortality and morbidity based products.
- Thorough knowledge of underwriting practices and industry standards, including related Sarbanes-Oxley regulations.
- Excellent interpersonal and written/verbal communication skills in order to provide feedback and consultation related to audit outcomes.
- Attention to detail and analytical skills to perform audit duties and interpret data.
- The ability to work on assigned audits independently and interpret a wide range of collected information.
Preferred Qualifications
- Underwriting audit and/or contestable claims experience.
- FLMI and FALU certifications.
- Knowledge of Life & Protection products and distribution systems.
Working Conditions
- Remote from home.
The Salary for this position generally ranges between $70,000-$90,000 annually. Please note that the salary range is a good faith estimate for this position and actual starting pay is determined by several factors including qualifications, experience, geography, work location designation (in-office, hybrid, remote) and operational needs. Salary may vary above and below the stated amounts, as permitted by applicable law.
Additionally, this position is typically eligible for a 12.5% Annual Bonus based on the Company Bonus Plan/Individual Performance and is at the Company’s discretion.
