Define and implement marketing campaign strategies to promote the sale of company products and services. Drive engagement with financial professionals through product marketing, brand affinity, and the launch of new products/solutions.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with sales channel partners to develop strategic short and long term marketing strategies and plans that address current and future revenue objectives.
  • Evaluate and adjust marketing strategy and plans to meet changing market and competitive conditions.
  • Set priorities and manage through people and processes; leverage resources throughout the organization.
  • Manage program budgets.
  • Partner with teams in Product Development, Sales, Operations, and other stakeholders to drive and build the company brand, sales profitability, and customer excellence.
  • Work with Sales leadership to ensure internal sales team has the tools, training, and incentives needed to effectively sell products and services.
  • Own the product launch/release plan and implementation management for new product introductions.
  • Develop strong customer relationships to become the organization’s expert in customer needs and opportunities.
  • Create a positive and performance-driven culture, building repeatable processes to deliver results and coach sales and marketing professionals.
  • Conduct-one-on-one meetings with staff to assess individual needs, work load, issues/opportunities, career path, development and process management.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in marketing, business, communications or equivalent experience
  • Ten years of marketing communications, digital marketing, or project management experience
  • Eight years of marketing experience in financial services or a related industry
  • Five years of management experience
  • Expert understanding of traditional and digital platforms
  • Broad experience developing and executing marketing strategies for complex projects
  • Thorough understanding of the investment products marketplace and distribution process, including how products are priced, packaged and positioned across various
  • Technical acumen to design campaigns that optimize the use of traditional and digital marketing platforms
  • Ability to interpret data and articulate results to diverse audiences
  • Analytical and decision-making skills to identify/prioritize critical issues and interpret data
  • Excellent communication and relationship building skills

Preferred Qualifications

  • Intermediary or institutional experience
  • Familiarity with content management, workflow and other marketing tools such as CMD, CRM, DAM, Workflow, Salesforce Marketing Cloud, Workfront
  • Experience in change management
  • FINRA Series 7 (for roles supporting mutual funds)

Working Conditions

  • Office environment

The Salary for this position generally ranges between $140,000-$175,000 annually. Please note that the salary range is a good faith estimate for this position and actual starting pay is determined by several factors including qualifications, experience, geography, work location designation (in-office, hybrid, remote) and operational needs.

Salary may vary above and below the stated amounts, as permitted by applicable law.

Additionally, this position is typically eligible for an Annual Bonus based on the Company Bonus Plan/Individual Performance and is at the Company’s discretion.

Director, Participant Engagement & Communications

Job Summary
Define and implement marketing campaign strategies to promote the sale of company products and services.  Drive engagement with financial professionals through product marketing, brand affinity, and the launch of new products/solutions. 

Responsibilities
Lead the firm’s team of client-facing Participant Engagement & Communication strategists and subject matter experts assigned to Transamerica’s most high-profile and complex retirement plan sponsor clients in the large/mega/not-for-profit markets.
Manage the time sensitive development, implementation, delivery, and measurement of the team’s participant engagement and communications strategies (multi-touch and multi-channel) that include action-based campaigns plus digital and human-touch experiences designed to drive plan engagement activity and changes to participant behaviors.
Deliver financial services acumen with strategic marketing and communications experience, retirement plan provider product knowledge, retirement plan health KPI insights, and client relationship management skills to help improve retirement readiness for the firm’s plan sponsor clients’ employee base.
Evaluate and adjust the team’s marketing strategy as needed in support of the firm’s business goals to meet changes in the marketplace and the competitive landscape; identify short- and long-term marketing plans that address current and future revenue objectives.
Drive client satisfaction and retention while co-managing client metrics in partnership with other members of the client service team.
Improve delivery of the firm’s financial wellness offering through communication campaigns, resources, and tools, including spearheading the development of new resources when needed.
Manage communication budgets, deliverables, quality control, timelines, metrics, planning, and reporting.
Attend and present new concepts or provide campaign and plan health updates during client meetings, whether in person, via virtual meetings, or phone.
Work with Sales leadership to ensure internal sales team has the tools, training, and incentives needed to effectively sell Transamerica’s unique value proposition in a competitive and mature financial services market.
Explain complex concepts and build consensus with client contacts, intermediaries, Sales, Client Services, Marketing Services, Product Development, Operations, and other key stakeholders across the business to build the company brand, sales profitability, and customer excellence.
Anticipate industry standard regulatory communication requirements and ensure appropriate communications are leveraged for plan sponsors and retirement plan participants.
Engage the Retirement Planning Counselor team and identify best practices for promoting and conducting employee meetings, virtual appointments, and presentations/webcasts.
Engage internal licensed professionals and identify best practices for outbound engagement with select audience targets providing a complete, end-to-end financial wellness experience for participants.
Guide best practices for the development of creative briefs as required by in-house marketing services team to ensure full understanding of each initiative/tactic.
Troubleshoot workflow process deficiencies to ensure deliverables progress through production systems.
Set priorities and manage through people and processes, leverage resources throughout the organization.
Conduct-one-on-one meetings with staff to assess individual needs, workload balance, client engagement insights, issues/opportunities, career pathing, and professional development.
Create a positive and performance-driven culture, building repeatable processes to deliver results and coach sales and marketing professionals.

Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in marketing, business, communications, or equivalent experience
Ten years of marketing communications, digital marketing, or project management experience
Eight years of financial services/retirement industry experience and in-depth knowledge of defined contribution, defined benefit, non-qualified plans, a relevant regulatory compliance
Five years of management experience
Expert understanding of traditional and digital platforms
Broad experience developing and executing marketing strategies for complex projects
Thorough understanding of the investment products marketplace and distribution process, including how products are priced, packaged and positioned across various
Technical acumen to design campaigns that optimize the use of traditional and digital marketing platforms

Analytical and decision-making skills to identify/prioritize critical issues and interpret data
Excellent communication and relationship building skills
Excellent negotiation and conflict management skills; ability to anticipate and overcome potential objections.
Excellent presentation skills, technical and persuasive writing skills, and style guide knowledge.

Preferred Qualifications
Experience with marketing automation, variable data, personalization, and multi-channel delivery approaches to communications
Experience managing a complex client book of business in retirement plan mega/not-for-profit/healthcare/manufacturing market segments
Advisor/Intermediary relationship experience and an understanding of their role
New client Sales experience in mega/not-for-profit/healthcare/manufacturing market segments
Experience with NPS methodology and scoring
Experience in change management (ADKAR)
Advanced proficiency us MS Office, Salesforce, and various workflow tools
