Senior Business Analyst - Life Insurance
Responsibilities:
Reviews and edits requirements, specifications, business processes and recommendations related to proposed solution
Develops functional specifications and system design specifications for client engagements
Ensures issues are identified, tracked in JIRA, reported on and resolved in a timely manner
Works with stakeholders to identify required changes
Defines and refines test conditions
Communicates needed changes to development team
Prioritizies multiple tasks effectively; may be responsible for assigning project tasks
Engages in Scrum and technical meetings
Communicates effectively with clients to identify needs and evaluates alternative business solutions
Possesses and applies broad knowledge of concepts and principles or exhibits technical expertise in a specific area; works with minimal instruction or guidance with appreciable latitude for un-reviewed action or decisions; performs moderately difficult assignments with diverse scope and complexity, requiring a great deal of originality, creativity and problem solving with initiative and independent judgment required.
Demonstrates new or modified processes to stakeholders and team members
Maintains comprehensive documentation for each project, ensuring all relevant details are recorded and accessible
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent education/experience.
Minimum of 5 years of experience in testing and/or systems background.
Strong understanding of operational procedures and systems.
Preferred Qualifications:
Programming and/or IT background helpful.
Knowledge of life insurance industry products
Two years of underwriting experience within Transamerica or two years of experience working on an enhanced underwriting project
Working Conditions:
Commuting Remote employees will need to report to a Company office location at times, but will perform their work primarily remotely.
Occasional travel for vendor and team meetings
The Salary for this position generally ranges between $65,000 - $85,000 annually. Please note that the salary range is a good faith estimate for this position and actual starting pay is determined by several factors including qualifications, experience, geography, work location designation (in-office, hybrid, remote) and operational needs. Salary may vary above and below the stated amounts, as permitted by applicable law.
Additionally, this position is typically eligible for an Annual Bonus based on the Company Bonus Plan/Individual Performance and is at the Company’s discretion.
