Responsible for the development and direction of creative materials that reinforces Transamerica brand and product positioning across our Retirement and Investments channels and platforms. This includes the management of a design team to conceptualize and create brand assets (video, digital and print) for Transamerica through assignments, deadlines, reviews, and feedback. This specific AD role requires video creation experience, primarily in post-production and editing and will be about 35% of the role. Your responsibilities will include understanding our brand to give expert visual guidance, developing compelling layouts, video post-production, and championing and protecting the brand across multiple platforms and channels. You will work closely with our Marketing Directors, the larger creative team, and Channel partners to create work that engages and sells. We need an agent for collaboration, advocating for and managing relationships with a wide range of stakeholders to ensure alignment with strategic goals. You will help nurture our environment of learning, engagement, and encouraging creativity that fosters fresh and progressive ideas.

Responsibilities

  • Manage design team resources and provide direction and assistance to ensure project objectives are met
  • Concept, design and complete materials for execution in video, digital, and print formats to support campaign and marketing needs
  • Oversee concepting, creation, and delivery; ensure adherence to brand standards
  • Work with fellow Art Directors and content team on creative development to understand requirements and goals to be communicated 
  • Handle video and post production, including editing and animation for use on Transamerica websites, social media platforms, and other mediums
  • Provide senior managers with routine reporting/information on team activities
  • Maintain a deep understanding of company products and branding
  • Help create processes, templates and standards for use by all designers
  • Make recommendations to improve efficiency, productivity, and procedures


Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in marketing, advertising, design, digital media or related field
  • Eight years of experience in a creative marketing, video and digital design role
  • Experience leading creative projects and conceptualizing ideas in a team environment
  • Expertise creating in digital and traditional formats, animation, and video processes
  • Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite, Video, HTML, and general CMS knowledge
  • Strong communication, problem-solving, negotiating, and relationship building skills
  • Deadline and detail oriented, organized, with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects
  • Ability to work independently with limited direction

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in the financial services industry
  • Formal management/leadership experience

The Salary for this position generally ranges between $100,000 - $120,000 annually. Please note that the salary range is a good faith estimate for this position and actual starting pay is determined by several factors including qualifications, experience, geography, work location designation (in-office, hybrid, remote) and operational needs. Salary may vary above and below the stated amounts, as permitted by applicable law. Additionally, this position is typically eligible for an Annual Bonus based on the Company Bonus Plan/Individual Performance and is at the Company’s discretion.

Job Summary
Develop a broad range of creative content to reinforce brand and product positioning, tone, and accuracy of content across company channels and platforms.  The Managing Director will oversee and assign work to the writing team, and work closely with Brand, Channel, and Digital teams to understand and implement positioning and content strategy of marketing programs.    

Responsibilities
Oversee traditional content development, and online content such as blogs, social and site content.
Review staff members work for brand and product positioning, tone, and accuracy, for best communications to the market.
Partner with Brand to set strategy and understand the company position to disseminate to writing team.
Participate in content strategy and development of the overarching editorial calendar – digital platforms and financial project integration for consistent and aligned messaging across platforms, channels, and deliverables.
Maintain strong department and marketing group collaboration, and open lines of communication, for consistency, efficiency, and messaging.
Provide staff guidance and career growth.
Create thought leadership content as needed.
Oversee technical writing projects as needed.
Contribute to the development of the brand and message evolution.

Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in English, journalism, communications, marketing or related field, or equivalent experience
Eight years of writing and editing experience in product marketing, thought leadership content, online content and social media
Two years of management experience
Experience in the financial services industry
Outstanding writing skills, editorial judgment and brand writing/story telling ability
Communication and interpersonal skills to manage staff and partner with diverse stakeholders
Strong communication, interpersonal and relationship building skills to assimilate ideas in collaboration with diverse stakeholders and mentor/coach staff
Organizational skills and attention to detail
Ability to work under pressure of deadlines
