  1. Vacancies
Enterprise Technology is a global organization within Transamerica. We provide dedicated application support to Transamerica and we bring all of Aegon's business units together through the use of technology. We provide the backbone - the infrastructure - for how everything works. We’re creating the company’s AI environment, building a flexible ‘cloud experience’ for internal hosting services, designing frameworks for data governance and management, and ensuring the security and stability the company’s technology. In short, we enable the business units to move more quickly and deliver to our clients in the best possible way. Whether customers are interested in insurance products or annuities or financial services, we're here to ensure they don't have to worry whether their information is safe. The people we employ are incredibly diverse, both in terms of backgrounds and skill sets. There are over 1000 of us representing a dozen or so nationalities and located in the UK, the US, the Netherlands, Hungary, Spain, and Hong Kong. Our global teams are comprised of experts in areas such as application development, information security, infrastructure services, data & analytics, risk & controls, procurement, program management, and architecture. With the breadth of functions within Enterprise Technology, individuals can pursue a wide variety of careers, and we have a focus on supporting employees’ development. The most important quality in the people who join us is curiosity. A lot of what we do is problem solving, requiring colleagues to take what they know and apply it to new situations. We have many mature processes, but we’re always looking for opportunities to improve, so we want people who are naturally inquisitive and confident enough to challenge the way we do things. Technology is constantly, rapidly changing – we need you to help us continue to change with it.

As a Senior Platform Engineer on the Global CI/CD Platform team, you will design, build, and maintain the organization's software delivery platforms — including GitHub, Harness, SonarQube, Snyk, and Nexus Repository — leveraging AWS, Terraform, Docker, and Kubernetes to support the platform infrastructure. You will be responsible for the configuration, customization, and operational health of these platforms to meet the needs of engineering teams across the organization.

This role requires close collaboration with stakeholders across business units to gather requirements, design scalable solutions, and deliver reliable, secure CI/CD capabilities. The emphasis is on automation, developer experience, and platform reliability — enabling teams to ship software faster, safer, and more consistently. Your work will directly impact how the organization builds, tests, secures, and delivers software at scale.

What You Will Do:

  • Administer, configure, and scale the organization's CI/CD platform toolchain — GitHub (Enterprise Cloud/Server), Harness, SonarQube, Snyk, and Nexus Repository — including platform upgrades, integrations, and day-to-day operational health.
  • Design, implement, and optimize CI/CD pipelines, templates, and deployment strategies across multiple environments and business units.
  • Manage GitHub Enterprise administration including org policies, repository governance, SSO/SAML configuration, and audit logging.
  • Configure and maintain Harness CI/CD pipelines, connectors, delegates, and deployment strategies to support delivery teams across the organization.
  • Develop and implement platform strategies to improve efficiency through automation and enhance the developer experience.
  • Enable development teams to self-service CI/CD capabilities through documentation, reusable pipeline templates, and standardized components.
  • Implement and enforce platform security controls including access management, secrets handling, and compliance with organizational security policies.
  • Monitor platform performance and health, troubleshoot technical issues, provide technical support for CI/CD services, and enable systems with automated monitoring and alerting.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to gather requirements, build solution designs, and ensure scalability, resiliency, and efficiency of platform architectures — including responding to emerging requirements and ambiguous technology decisions.
  • Create system guidelines, process documentation, runbooks, and training materials for the organization.
  • Support tool consolidation efforts by migrating CI/CD pipelines, repositories, and artifact stores from disparate systems to the organization's centralized platform.
  • Manage vendor relationships, licensing, support escalations, and upgrade planning for platform tooling.

What You Will Need:

Qualifications

  •  Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, a related field, or equivalent education/experience, with 5–7 years of related work experience.
  • Proven experience as a Platform Engineer, DevOps Engineer, or similar role focused on CI/CD and developer tooling.
  • Experience administering CI/CD toolchains including pipeline orchestration (GitHub Actions, Harness, Jenkins), code quality/security scanning (SonarQube, Snyk), and artifact management (Nexus Repository, Artifactory) — or equivalents.
  • Proficiency with AWS cloud services and on-premises builds and deployments.
  • Experience with Terraform for infrastructure as code (IaC) provisioning and management.
  • Experience with Docker, Kubernetes, and container image lifecycle management.
  • Strong technical skills including Git workflows and branching strategies, YAML-based pipeline-as-code, and scripting (Python, Bash/Shell, Groovy, or similar).
  • Experience supporting platforms at enterprise scale across multiple regions or business units.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Proven ability to apply critical thinking to business demands.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills, including the ability to work across time zones with global teams.
  • Flexibility, adaptability to change, and a continuous learning mindset.

Preferred

  • Experience with API and webhook integrations to connect and automate across CI/CD toolchains.
  • Understanding of networking fundamentals as they relate to CI/CD infrastructure (proxies, firewalls, DNS, load balancers).
  • Experience with secrets management tools (HashiCorp Vault, AWS Secrets Manager, or similar).
  • Knowledge of security best practices in platform engineering, software supply chain security, and SBOM (Software Bill of Materials) creation and management.
  • Experience building internal developer platforms (IDPs) or self-service developer portals (Harness IDP, Backstage, or similar).
  • Experience with monitoring, logging, and observability tools (Datadog, Splunk, Grafana, CloudWatch, or similar), including CI/CD platform metrics such as DORA metrics and build analytics.
  • Certifications in cloud platforms (AWS Certified Solutions Architect, DevOps Engineer, or similar).
  • Ability to mentor junior engineers and contribute to team growth.

Bonus — Emerging Skills

  • Experience with AI-driven DevOps practices and developer tools (GitHub Advanced Security, GitHub Copilot, AI-powered code review, automated PR summarization, predictive build analysis, or similar).
  • Experience with policy-as-code and governance automation tools (Open Policy Agent, Sentinel, GitHub repository rulesets, or similar).
  • Experience with GitOps practices and tooling (ArgoCD, Flux, Harness GitOps, or similar).
  • Experience with container supply chain security, including image signing and verification (Cosign, Sigstore, or similar).

Working Conditions

  • Fast-paced environment supporting a large developer population.
  • On-call rotation may be required to support platform availability.
  • Hybrid/office environment.
  • Primarily US-based team with global team members across multiple time zones.
  • Minimal travel.
