Head of Transamerica Asset Management Investments
*This is a hybrid role, where the employee is expected to work a hybrid schedule in our Denver office
Responsibilities
- Lead the development and execution of investment management strategy across mutual funds, exchange-traded funds, separately managed accounts, and collective investment trusts.
- Establish and implement advanced methodologies for manager selection, monitoring, and performance evaluation under the manager-of-managers framework.
- Apply modern portfolio analytics including attribution, factor analysis, and alpha generation to enhance fund performance and risk-adjusted returns.
- Communicate investment strategy, positioning, and performance to distribution, marketing, and executive leadership teams.
- Collaborate with product development and product management teams to align investment capabilities with market opportunities.
- Oversee preparation of materials for annual contract renewals and presentations to the Mutual Fund Board of Independent Trustees.
- Author investment insights and commentary for external audiences including financial professionals, media, and the general public.
- Serve as a member of the Mutual Fund Management Committee and actively participate in board-level meetings.
- Engage with senior leaders across the organization to support strategic goals and cross-functional initiatives.
- May lead enterprise-wide investment projects or represent the firm in external forums and industry groups.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in finance, economics, or a related field
- Fifteen years of experience in the investment industry
- Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA)
- Experience selecting and overseeing fund managers or managing asset allocation decisions
- Experience preparing and delivering executive-level presentations
- Strategic thinking and strong management capabilities
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work collaboratively across diverse teams
- Knowledge of mutual fund and investment management industries
- Proficiency in MS Word and Excel
Preferred Qualifications
- Master of Business Administration (MBA)
Working Conditions

- Moderate travel for board meetings, conferences, and internal collaboration
The Salary for this position generally ranges between $288,750 - $325,000 annually. Please note that the salary range is a good faith estimate for this position and actual starting pay is determined by several factors including qualifications, experience, geography, work location designation (in-office, hybrid, remote) and operational needs.
Salary may vary above and below the stated amounts, as permitted by applicable law.
Additionally, this position is typically eligible for an Annual Bonus based on the Company Bonus Plan/Individual Performance and is at the Company’s discretion.
