Department Overview

The Marketing function plays a central role in elevating  Aegon Asset Management’s brand, accelerating commercial growth, and enhancing client retention across institutional and intermediary distribution channels. Working closely with Sales, Product, and Investments, the team delivers integrated, insight‑driven marketing activities designed to deepen  client engagement and help progress the firm’s strategic priorities.

Role Purpose

The Senior Channel Marketing Manager plays a key role in shaping and delivering effective data‑driven marketing plans across  distribution channels. This role requires the ability to influence key stakeholders and to make recommendations for creative and effective marketing campaigns. . The role combines strategic thinking with operational excellence to drive measurable commercial outcomes, strengthen channel performance, and enhance the overall client experience.

Key Responsibilities

Channel Strategy & Execution

  • Design and execute integrated channel marketing plans that drive awareness, engagement, and pipeline growth.
  • Use market intelligence, sales insights, and performance analytics to inform channel priorities and optimize targeting.
  • Ensure marketing plans are delivered within the agreed budget, monitoring efficient allocation and clear ROI measurement.
  • Provide stakeholders perspective on messaging, positioning, and channel use, ensuring consistency and differentiation.

Lead Generation & Sales Enablement

  • Develop marketing plans and activities to increase high‑quality Marketing Qualified Leads (MQLs) and accelerate pipeline creation.
  • Implement advanced segmentation, nurturing journeys, and personalization to improve conversion rates.
  • Partner closely with Sales to ensure alignment on lead qualification standards and feedback loops.
  • Share information on best practices, channel utilization, and campaign alignment.
  • Equip Sales with timely, relevant content and tools to support conversations and deepen client relationships.

Innovation & Best Practices

  • Champion a test‑and‑learn culture, piloting new approaches and scaling proven successes.
  • Explore modern marketing technologies, including AI‑driven analytics, predictive modeling, and next‑best‑action tools.
  • Uphold compliance with regulatory standards, financial promotions rules, data protection requirements, and brand governance.

Content & Campaign Management

  • Produce effective marketing communications by working collaboratively with various parts of the business, including Investments, Product and the broader Marketing team.
  • Deliver integrated, multi‑touch campaigns leveraging digital, events, paid media, partnerships, and sales enablement tools.
  • Ensure content and campaigns align with investment capabilities, client challenges, and commercial priorities.

Additional Responsibilities

  • Monitor and report on channel and campaign performance, engagement metrics, attribution, and ROI.
  • Stay current on market trends, regulatory developments, competitor activity, and marketing technology advances.
  • Work collaboratively with Sales and the broader Marketing team to plan and schedule effective marketing activity

Experience Requirements
  • 7+ years of channel or integrated marketing experience, within asset management or broader financial services.
  • Demonstrated success in commercial marketing, demand generation, and performance optimization.
  • Proven experience operating in senior stakeholder environments, including presenting to and influencing senior executives and senior sales heads.
  • Strong understanding of investment products, institutional and intermediary channels, and distribution dynamics.
  • Demonstrate a good understanding of the key marketing challenges and opportunities faced by the asset management industry.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to confidently challenge and influence stakeholders.
  • Proficiency across CRM, marketing automation, and analytics platforms (e.g., Salesforce, Pardot, Seismic, Power BI).
  • Analytical mindset with the ability to interpret data, uncover insights, and drive measurable improvements.
  • Ability to manage multiple initiatives, prioritize effectively, and work under pressure.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business, Finance, Communications, or related field; Master’s degree preferred.
  • Familiarity with global and local financial‑services marketing regulations.
  • Native Dutch speech is a pre.
  • Experience with marketing attribution, performance reporting, and advanced analytics.
