This intermediate-level First Line Risk and Control Analyst role is crucial to ensuring the organization's IT operations are secure, compliant, and aligned with industry best practices. The successful candidate will have the flexibility to operate within the first line (global team), focusing on IT risk management, compliance, governance, or controls. Specifically, this role will be part of the First Line Risk and Controls (FLRC) Operations team. It will be responsible for the execution of technology key control, monitoring, and general technology compliance activities, as well as all related governance and management reporting.

What You Will Do:

  • Support key regulatory compliance initiatives with IT impact and raise awareness of any IT risks identified to Management to support decision-making.
  • Support team leads in the identification and implementation of efficiencies within procedures and related support activities.
  • Support management of identified compliance gaps, including identification/treatment of associated risks to appropriate risk response outcomes.
  • Assist with or provide training and awareness programs on IT compliance.
  • Assist in the development and oversight of metrics and reporting capabilities.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with teams as needed, including IT Risk (2nd Line), Information Security, Internal Controls, Internal Audit, and/or external consultants to execute controls efficiently and within expectations.
  • Participate in small to mid-sized projects

What You Will Need:

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in information technology, management information systems, computer science, or equivalent combination of knowledge and experience.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in IT risk management, compliance, governance, or controls.
  • Knowledge of relevant laws, regulations, and standards.
  • Excellent written/oral communication and relationship-building skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Organizational skills.
  • Knowledge of IT governance frameworks such as COBIT, ITIL, or ISO 27001.
  • Familiarity with risk management tools and software.
  • Ability to work collaboratively across the organization.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to engage with all levels of management tactfully and diplomatically while always maintaining a professional demeanor.
  • Assist with fostering a culture of continuous improvement and professional development.

Preferred

  • Certifications in CISA, CRISC, CISSP, CISM, and ITIL are highly desirable.
  • Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office (Excel, SharePoint, PowerPoint, Visio, Word).
  • Experience working in a multi-national organization.
  • Experience working in the insurance and/or finance industry.
