Intermediate Platform Engineer
As an Intermediate Platform Engineer, you will contribute to the design, build, and ongoing optimization of the organization’s software platforms. You will support the configuration and customization of platform capabilities to meet business and technical needs, assist with developing and maintaining applications, workflows, and integrations, and help ensure the platform’s stability, security, performance, and scalability. You will collaborate with senior engineers and stakeholders to gather requirements, participate in solution design discussions, and help implement platform features and enhancements. You will also contribute to automation efforts, troubleshoot technical issues, and provide reliable operational support. Your work will help streamline processes, improve service delivery, and enhance organizational productivity through well‑maintained, resilient platform capabilities.
Responsibilities
- Contribute to the development and maintenance of monitoring solutions supporting IT operations systems, infrastructure, and applications; Cloud and On‑premises.
- Assist with business and technical analysis and participate in architectural reviews with customers.
- Support continuous integration/continuous delivery (CI/CD) processes and pipelines, including improvements and automation.
- Help configure and enhance automated monitoring and alerting across systems and services.
- Participate in building ingest pipelines, visualizations, and dashboard capabilities for structured and unstructured data.
- Contribute to the development of triggered alert functionality, including on‑screen alerts and event routing to ITSM and Event Management Platforms.
- Perform day‑to‑day Request and Incident ticket work, escalating issues appropriately when needed.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to gather requirements and support designing scalable and efficient platform architectures.
- Assist in creating system guidelines, process documentation, and training materials.
- Participate in responding to evolving requirements, ambiguous technical decisions, and emerging platform needs.
- Support IT and business unit projects related to platform and collaboration solutions, including acquisitions, divestitures, and migrations.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, a related field, or equivalent education/experience and 3–5 years of related work experience.
- Experience configuring and applying monitoring standards in collaboration with application teams (AppDynamics, Elastic Stack, CloudWatch, Site24x7).
- Hands‑on experience with distributed telemetry pipelines (Elastic ingestion, data normalization, dashboards).
- Working knowledge of alert normalization, enrichment, and correlation patterns.
- Experience with webhook‑based and API‑driven event ingestion.
- Familiarity with incident lifecycle concepts and routing workflows within platforms such as BigPanda and ServiceNow.
- Solid understanding of logs, metrics, traces, and observability concepts (APM, RUM, synthetic monitoring).
- Ability to work with AI‑enabled workflows and basic prompt engineering concepts.
- Foundational understanding of vector DB concepts, enrichment pipelines, and secure handling of generative‑AI–augmented data flows.
- Working knowledge of SSO, OAuth, API Gateway, and secured data flow patterns.
- Strong hands‑on AWS experience (Lambda, S3, API Gateway, CloudWatch, IAM).
- Ability to interpret telemetry and identify patterns to support troubleshooting and optimization.
- Experience interacting with large language models and incorporating them into automation or workflows.
- Proven experience as a Platform Engineer or similar role (i.e., M365, AWS, or Azure Engineer).
- Strong understanding of cloud technologies, DevOps processes, and service automation.
- Experience with CI/CD tools and practices (i.e., Jenkins, Azure Pipelines, etc.).
- Experience with automation and scripting (i.e., PowerShell, Graph API, etc.).
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with BigPanda or Biggy AI.
- Experience with Elastic and its feature set.
- Familiarity with monitoring and logging integrations with ServiceNow.
- Knowledge of security best practices in platform engineering.
- Certifications in cloud platforms (GCP, AWS, Azure, M365).
