Following the devastating flooding concentrated around Valencia on the eastern coast of Spain, we are assisting our customers who have been impacted. Aegon has also organized a fundraiser for the Red Cross, and we will be matching the collected amount up to EUR 350,000.
The flooding was triggered by a massive storm on Spain’s Mediterranean coast at the end of October. The high-altitude isolated depression accompanied by huge downpours is referred to by the Spanish acronym DANA and is regarded as the worst incident of its kind in a century. Many people have been impacted and others have been left homeless.
Aegon Spain has stepped up to help. Our business sent SMS alerts to its customers in the area prior to the storm and contacted them again in the aftermath to assist in filing property insurance claims.
As we strongly believe in supporting our local communities in critical times, Aegon has put a donation process in place, with the matching pledge from the company. The donations are for the Red Cross (Cruz Roja in Spanish), which is providing shelter and essential supplies to thousands of people affected by the flooding.
