For the second year running, Transamerica, Aegon’s U.S. subsidiary, has achieved 90 out of a possible 100 points in the Human Rights Campaign Foundation Corporate Equality Index. This year the Index rated almost 900 businesses.
[node:field_featured_media:entity:field_media_image]Businesses are scored on a scale from 0 to 100, based on whether or not they have policies that support LGBTQ employees. These include anti-discrimination protections, domestic partner benefits, diversity training and transgender-inclusive benefits.
The 2017 Corporate Equality Index (CEI) ranking reflects Transamerica's commitment to lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender and queer (LGBTQ) workplace equality. Transamerica's score is reflective of its inclusive policies, benefits, Employee Resource Groups and community engagement.
Inclusive work environment
Recognition by the Index can positively influence the attractiveness of Transamerica's products and careers to the LGBTQ community and help create an even more inclusive work environment and total rewards package for its employees.
Jody McKowen, Head of Human Resources at Transamerica recognizes this, saying: "Workplace equality is important to customers when choosing how their financial needs will be met, and the dedication we have to this area supports our rating."
