Senior Structured Finance Portfolio Manager - Aegon AM
Responsibilities:
- Underwrite, structure and document new issue asset backed securities with an understanding and comfort of the entire investment process.
- Analyze complex transactions with multiple variables, understanding legal documents which govern each transaction, converse with legal personnel regarding deal points and negotiate to satisfactory resolution.
- Ability and flexibility to manage several transactions/projects at once, often with multiple parties and tight deadlines.
- Present investment recommendations to various investment committee and working groups and execute trade ideas after receiving necessary feedback from client.
- Provide ongoing monitoring of an existing asset-backed securities portfolio including identifying performance trends and taking prompt corrective action when necessary.
- Update cash flow models to forecast performance of an asset-backed security on both an absolute and relative basis.
- Conduct monthly review and analysis of servicer reports and other published information, detailed credit analysis of the financial condition of sellers and servicers of asset-backed securities, trend analysis with respect to performance triggers, and overall research of industry issues within certain assigned sectors.
- Conduct management and manager interview for due diligence and surveillance responsibilities.
- Provide overall assessment of current and projected performance of securities by synthesizing the analysis of both the individual transaction structure as well as the health of the servicer and the industry.
- Assist the team with the monthly pricing of the portfolio as well as analysis of performance results versus benchmarks.
- Assist or lead efforts to improve portfolio analytical capabilities using industry-standard, proprietary or issuer designed software and analytical tools.
- Reverse engineer existing asset-backed securities for modeling, underwriting and forecasting purposes.
- Other duties may include liquidation value analysis and cash flow modeling on troubled credits.
Required Qualifications:
- Minimum of 8-12 years of experience in an investment decision making role.
- Academic degree.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft Office products.
- Proficiency with scenario analysis and modeling on Intexcalc.
- Familiarity with responsible investing concepts.
- Demonstrated strong communications skills, both verbal and written.
- Willingness to be involved in broader organizational initiatives.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Proficiency with Bloomberg.
- Prior utilization of Aladdin portfolio analytic tools.
- Advance study such as CFA and/or advance degree such as a post-graduate degree or MBA.

The base salary for this position generally ranges between $180,000 - $220,000 annually. This range is an estimate, based on potential qualifications and operational needs. Salary may vary above and below the stated amounts, as permitted by applicable law.
Additionally, this position is typically eligible for an Annual Bonus based on the Company Bonus Plan/Individual Performance and is at the Company’s discretion.
