Lead Data Governance Officer - Aegon AM
Responsibilities:
Data Governance:
- Establish and maintain written global frameworks and procedures to comply with data policy and standards
- Work with business and IT stakeholders to operationalize these policies and frameworks leveraging tooling where available to coordinate and support
- Work with technology services on the configuration and availability of the tooling for use within business
- Provide management oversight on the data governance activities of the organization and seek decisions from governance committees to alter or strengthen its position
- Chair working groups, with business and IT stakeholders to facilitate questions/feedback/decisions on data governance topics
- Embed data governance in change initiatives such that data is a key consideration and there are appropriate deliverables defined
- Safeguard data integrity, security, and compliance
Communication and Collaboration:
- Collaborate with data stakeholders across business and IT to deliver operational data governance
- Design, develop, and implement metrics, reports and/ dashboards to provide oversight and insight into key activities and drive key business decisions
- Plan & facilitate ongoing communication and training with stakeholders on key data governance activities
- Develop training materials to support the onboarding and adoption of the data-related initiatives in BAU
Technical Know How:
- Leverage technologies and platforms to effect data governance, by design
- Experienced in automating workflows, notifications and reporting and dashboards
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business (Finance, Accounting, Analytics) or equivalent experience
- Thorough knowledge and experience in data management and data governance (typically eight or more years)
- Understanding of data management industry frameworks, principles and practices
- Proficient applying technologies to data management (e.g. Alation, Power Query, MSBI, SQL server)
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Experienced automating workflows, notifications, reporting, and dashboards
- Excellent written/oral communication and interpersonal skills to present information and influence stakeholders
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Proficient in MS Office including Excel, PowerPoint, BI
Preferred Qualifications:
- Preferably some experience within a corporate working environment
- Experience working in the financial industry is a plus
