Lead Client and Operational Due Diligence
In this role, you are the expert on anti-money laundering and sanctions screening, which includes reviewing client files, working on policy improvements and providing expert advice to stakeholders on how to perform client due diligence. In addition, you will lead the team consisting of three employees. The team is newly set up and is expected to be acting as a central knowledge hub for anything related to anti-money laundering, sanctions screening and operational due diligence on external asset managers.
We are looking for an AMLD expert, who preferably has experience on illiquid assets (loans) who will help in further automating processes and streamlining matters. In addition to the anti-money laundering and sanctions activities, the team performs operational due diligence. This means assessing the operational set-up of external asset managers, and assessing the policies and procedures they have in place. In order to perform on-going monitoring, your team has regular interactions with external asset managers.

Responsibilities:
This candidate has experience in working in a regulated environment and has affinity with the requirements and challenges around performing business relations due diligence (CDD) and preferably operational due diligence
This means that you are comfortable leading people and you understand what the team needs to flourish. As the role involves both operational work, strategic work and people management, the ideal candidate can quickly change perspectives and has a ‘getting things done’ mentality.
You will be working with a wide variety of stakeholders, so interpersonal skills are crucial. You are able to adopt different communication styles and you can tweak your message based on the target audience. In addition, having an investigate nature is essential. You are comfortable making your own decisions but also understand when you need to escalate matters. You have a strong focus on remaining in control and you are keen to make improvements to processes if you spot opportunities.
Required Qualifications:
You have finalized a relevant bachelor’s or master’s degree, preferably in economics, business administration or legal;
You are familiar with conducting business relations due diligence (client due diligence);
You have at least six years of relevant working experience;
You have experience with managing people; and
You can express yourself clearly in both Dutch and English.
Preferred Qualifications:
You have affinity with or experience in the financial sector, within a financial institution, as a consultant or with a regulator;
You have experience with operational due diligence within a financial institution; and
