The Geneva Association announced today that Aegon CEO, Lard Friese, was appointed Chair of the global association for insurance companies at its spring 2026 board meeting on June 3.
Having served as Vice Chair of the Geneva Association since November 2024, Lard Friese succeeds outgoing Chair Lee Yuan Siong, Group Chief Executive & President of AIA. Lee Yuan Siong will remain on the board following completion of his term as Chair.
Lard Friese will continue to combine his voluntary role at the Geneva Association alongside his responsibilities as CEO and Chairman of Aegon’s Executive Committee.

The Geneva Association members are insurance and reinsurance CEOs. The association investigates key risk areas that are likely to impact the insurance industry, develops recommendations and provides a platform for stakeholders to discuss them.
