Enterprise Technology is a global organization within Transamerica. We provide dedicated application support to Transamerica and we bring all of Aegon's business units together through the use of technology. We provide the backbone - the infrastructure - for how everything works. We’re creating the company’s AI environment, building a flexible ‘cloud experience’ for internal hosting services, designing frameworks for data governance and management, and ensuring the security and stability the company’s technology. In short, we enable the business units to move more quickly and deliver to our clients in the best possible way. Whether customers are interested in insurance products or annuities or financial services, we're here to ensure they don't have to worry whether their information is safe. The people we employ are incredibly diverse, both in terms of backgrounds and skill sets. There are over 1000 of us representing a dozen or so nationalities and located in the UK, the US, the Netherlands, Hungary, Spain, and Hong Kong. Our global teams are comprised of experts in areas such as application development, information security, infrastructure services, data & analytics, risk & controls, procurement, program management, and architecture. With the breadth of functions within Enterprise Technology, individuals can pursue a wide variety of careers, and we have a focus on supporting employees’ development. The most important quality in the people who join us is curiosity. A lot of what we do is problem solving, requiring colleagues to take what they know and apply it to new situations. We have many mature processes, but we’re always looking for opportunities to improve, so we want people who are naturally inquisitive and confident enough to challenge the way we do things. Technology is constantly, rapidly changing – we need you to help us continue to change with it. Job Description Summary: Leads day-to-day network operations and a team of network engineers/technicians. Responsible for operational excellence across enterprise network services (data center, campus/office, wireless, cloud connectivity, perimeter/security platforms, and circuits), ensuring reliable service delivery through strong incident, change, and problem management.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise and develop a team of network engineers/technicians: hiring support, onboarding, coaching, performance feedback, training plans, and workload prioritization.
  • Serve as a hands-on network engineer as needed for complex troubleshooting, implementation, and operational support across data center, WAN/Internet, cloud connectivity, wireless, load balancing, firewalls, and circuits.
  • Own day-to-day operational execution for network services, ensuring SLAs and processes are followed for incident, change, and problem management (including after-hours/on-call coordination as applicable).
  • Oversee, planning and coordination of network changes: risk assessment, change documentation, stakeholder communications, implementation oversight, and post-change validation.
  • Drive problem management and continuous improvement by identifying recurring issues, leading root-cause analysis, and implementing corrective actions to improve availability and reduce MTTR.
  • Maintain accurate network documentation (diagrams, runbooks, standard configurations) and ensure operational readiness for new services and deployments.
  • Coordinate with peer IT teams (security, server/platform, service desk, application teams) and external providers to deliver solutions and resolve cross-domain incidents.
  • Support vendor engagement for incidents and service requests; track deliverables and ensure service quality for managed circuits and provider services.
  • Provide input to forecasting and budgeting (hardware, software, support contracts) and support purchase/renewal processes per policy; this role does not have budget ownership.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information systems, or related field (or equivalent experience)
  • Five+ years of progressive experience in enterprise network engineering/operations (LAN/WAN, routing/switching, wireless, firewalls, load balancers, and circuit/provider management)
  • 1+ years of experience leading others (people leadership or strong technical lead experience), including work planning, coaching, and coordinating on-call/operational coverage
  • Demonstrated experience with change control and operational processes (incident, problem, and change management), including clear communications and documentation
  • Strong troubleshooting skills across multi-vendor environments and the ability to lead technical resolution during high-severity incidents

Preferred Qualifications

  • Strong customer focus; clear communicator who can translate technical issues into impact, status, and next steps for both technical and non-technical audiences
  • Hands-on experience with cloud/hybrid networking concepts (e.g., connectivity, segmentation, remote access) and network monitoring/observability tools

Working Conditions

  • Office Environment
  • On-call or after-hours support during incidents or planned maintenance windows
  • Occasional Travel <10%
  • Domestic and international travel may be required as necessary
