Associate Actuary (IFRS 17 Reporting )
Responsibilities
- Prepare and deliver actuarial reports, analyses, and management insights related to financial results, persistency, mortality and morbidity experience, reinsurance performance, economic impacts, and other key business drivers.
- Lead the preparation of the IFRS 17 Financial Management Information (FMI) package, including exhibits, narratives, management commentary, and responses to follow-up questions.
- Collaborate with valuation, investments, Asset Liability Management (ALM), and other business partners across life, health, and annuity product lines to understand and explain drivers of financial results and perform ad hoc analysis to support management questions.
- Develop, enhance, and maintain reporting exhibits and analytics that effectively communicate results and trends to management and other stakeholders.
- Support the organization's transition and ongoing reporting under U.S. GAAP, including development of FMI reporting, analysis of GAAP results, methodology development, and implementation activities.
- Provide technical guidance and actuarial expertise on complex reporting and valuation issues.
- Represent the organization, as appropriate, on industry committees, professional organizations, and in interactions with regulators.
Qualifications
- Fellow of the Society of Actuaries (FSA) or equivalent professional designation preferred.
- Bachelor's degree in Actuarial Science, Mathematics, Statistics, Economics, Finance, or a related quantitative field, plus 5+ years of relevant actuarial experience.
- In lieu of a Bachelor's degree, a Master's degree in a related field and 4+ years of relevant actuarial experience may be considered.
- In lieu of an FSA designation, an Associate of the Society of Actuaries (ASA) or equivalent designation with 8+ years of relevant actuarial experience may be considered.
- Demonstrates high quality leadership, judgment, organization and prioritization skills.
- Effectively communicates, both verbally and in writing, advanced mathematical and analytical concepts to various audiences.
- Works well under pressure and within time constraints to effectively accomplish individual and team objectives.
- xcellent computer skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Strong knowledge of insurance financial reporting, valuation, and actuarial analysis.
- Experience with IFRS 17 and/or U.S. GAAP reporting preferred.
- Demonstrated leadership, sound judgment, organizational effectiveness, and project management skills.
- Ability to communicate complex actuarial, financial, and analytical concepts clearly and effectively to technical and non-technical audiences.
- Proven ability to manage multiple priorities, meet deadlines, and perform effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and computer skills.

Working Conditions
This is a hybrid position requiring three days (Tuesday-Thursday) in office per week in one of our hub locations (Cedar Rapids, Baltimore, Philadelphia, or Denver).

Compensation
The salary for this position generally ranges between $128,000 - $165,000 annually. Please note that the salary range is a good faith estimate for this position and actual starting pay is determined by several factors including qualifications, experience, geography, work location designation (in-office, hybrid, remote) and operational needs. Salary may vary above and below the stated amounts, as permitted by applicable law.
Additionally, this position is typically eligible for an Annual Bonus of 15% based on the Company Bonus Plan/Individual Performance and is at the Company’s discretion.
