Position Overview: This position will be a part of the Aegon Asset Management US Data Operations team. The Intermediate Data Operations Analyst will be responsible for ensuring quality data in each of the data domains within Data Operations, including but not limited to Security, Analytics, Benchmarks and Pricing for daily and monthly processes. The Analyst will utilize their business analysis and technical skills to support and ensure data quality of the data, as well as ensure processes are complete and meeting the customer/client needs. This role will have interactions throughout Aegon Asset Management, to include Portfolio Management, Trading, Operations, Information Technology, and Risk Management.

Responsibilities:

  • Understand the Data Operations job functions and the impacts to downstream processes, infrastructure/architecture, and clients. Key activities being security master set-up, pricing and analytics.

  • Oversee the delivery of service from appointed Third Party Service Providers.

  • Complete assigned data tasks as required; support team members task as needed.

  • Utilize critical thinking skills and apply fundamental asset knowledge to each data domain to support critical daily and monthly processes.

  • Perform business analysis to determine best practices within daily production/projects.

  • Continuous improvement mindset, improving data quality with a focus on customer service.

  • Participate and set high expectations of self on daily production and projects.

  • Provide excellent customer service to all clients and internal customers, including being open, direct and fair in interactions with colleagues and clients.

  • Understand when to escalate or manage the issue within the team.

  • Create and manage a daily hand off process between Data Operations processes to support Global requirements.

  • Ensure the Data Operations processes are aligning to expected KPI’s and other metrics.


Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance or related fields.

  • Three (3) plus years of related experience in financial services industry or technical analysis.

  • Strong customer service skills.

  • Demonstrated ability to anticipate and proactively address underlying customer needs to ensure positive outcomes for our clients.

  • Strong analytical, complex problem recognition and resolution, organizational skills.

  • Demonstrated ability to communicate professionally with a variety of internal and external parties.

  • Ability to take broad concepts, break down and determine a solution forward.

  • Specifically, understand the fundamental data flows for data domains with, in relation to pricing, security master, analytics and impacts downstream and upstream in the organization.

  • High proficiency with Excel.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with BlackRock Aladdin.

  • Basic accounting knowledge.

Workplace Policy:

  • A hybrid work schedule in our Cedar Rapids, IA office, working in the office two days per week between Monday and Thursday, and remotely the remaining three days.

Job and compensation levels depend upon an applicant’s qualifications including the extent of candidate’s relevant experience and other job-related factors and will be determined by hiring supervisors/managers and HR.
