Aegon in Bermuda
While Aegon has had connections with Bermuda since the 1970s, our shared history really began in 2005 when Transamerica Life Bermuda established itself in Hamilton. Since 2023 Aegon Ltd. has its legal seat in Bermuda and is supervised by the Bermuda Monetary Authority (BMA). The Bermuda Monetary Authority's recognition by international bodies and Bermuda’s robust regulatory framework not only supports our international operations but also fosters stability and confidence for our stakeholders.

Our Community Investment program
In March 2025, Aegon launched a community investment program to support the community of Bermuda, in line with our purpose of Helping people live their best lives. The program will run for an initial term of three years, beginning in 2025, and has three key components: education, financial and social empowerment, and a grant to the Bermuda Foundation. The program further strengthens our relationship with Bermuda that began twenty years ago when Transamerica Life Bermuda, our subsidiary, established its presence on Bermuda, and was deepened by the redomiciliation of Aegon's legal seat to Bermuda in September 2023.
The program includes the Aegon Live your Best Life Scholarship which will support students pursuing careers within Bermuda’s local economy, in important industries like healthcare, the trades and the technology sectors. The Aegon Live Your Best Life Scholarships aim to help close educational gaps for Bermudians who require financial support. Scholarships of up to $30,000 each per academic year will be available for professional and vocational training. In addition, the program provides grants to local charity organizations helping Bermudians enhance financial literacy and social capabilities and resilience. This includes initiatives that promote financial education, encourage entrepreneurship and help people develop the skills they need to play an active role in Bermuda’s economy. It also supports organizations addressing broader social inclusion by fostering community engagement, offering support services, and promoting safety nets.
